LET ´S CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN!

The festival of Halloween is about 2.000 years old. It is always on 31st October. The origin of Halloween is an ancient festival in Northern Europe to celebrate the autumn harvest and the beginning of the long, cold, dark winter.
Halloween is a very popilar festival in the UK and in the USA, too.
Halloween traditions come from the ancient festival and from modern times. They include wearing masks and dressing up as witches, ghosts, monsters, skeletons, bats or cats. Other examples of Halloween traditions are "trick-or- treating" and making pumpkin lanterns.
Many young people celebrate Halloween with Halloween parties. They wear fancy dress and make Halloween decorations and Halloween food (  for example, Halloween pizzas; you make scary faces with the ingredients). They also dance and play Halloween games.

School year 2017-2018

At school, we are going to celebrate Halloween decorating our classrooms and corridors, singing Halloween songs and playing some Halloween games:

"Pin the bow tie on Mr. Bones" and "Ten pin pumpkins" (bowling).

WELCOME, MICHI!

Welcome, Michi!

We met Michi at Santiago at " Xornada de acollida e orientación de auxiliares de conversa" on 3rd October.

It was a very good opportunity to share information, experiences, friendship, coffee,... with other teachers and auxiliares (this year six different languages: English, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and seventeen different nationalities).

We hope you have a very good time at O Pombal. Welcome, Michi!

On 16th November she arrived at our school to start as a teacher assistant for 4th, 5th and 6th level.
We looked for information about her city, Baltimore, Maryland (U.S.A.). We hope she likes our welcome activities.

We have shared a lot of amazing moments with Michi during this school year. We all want to thank her this nice message.

We all wish you the best in your new way, too!
