CARNIVAL

Let´s have a look at our cameras for the Carnival Parade. We made them at the art lessons.

We had a very good time with our costumes and our schoolmates. This year the topic is "Pombaleiros around the world". We could see a lot of different costumes: Mexicans, Galician people, Sushi, Tourists, Portuguese Fadists, Gondoliers, English and Brazilian.

CARNIVAL

People celebrate Carnival or Mardi Gras in many cities in The USA.  Mardi Gras is a festival that is originally from Roman times in Italy and France. The French introduced Mardi Gras to the USA in the early 17th century.
Mardi Gras means “Fat Tuesday” in French. Mardi Gras starts in January and finishes on “Fat Tuesday”, 46 days before Easter Sunday. 
The most famous city for Mardi Gras in the USA is New Orleans. People wear fancy dresses,  costumes and beautiful eye masks.

At the classroom, we made a Mardi Gras eye mask.
